Your only gonna see an increase if your capped already btw, this isn't a speed booster...
I just paid my bill so of course if i throttle or unthrottle right now, theres no difference. It gives you like, 2 weeks of uncapped speeds.
And if my phone has it cause its from verizon, why would the ascend2 and 1 have the exact same files?

have you opened and looked thru the file? why would CM include a carriers throttle file?
because if you just delete it, you data gets f ed...
This is really surprising me how everybody is just proving this wrong without testing it at all.
MIUI MADE A FLASHABLE ZIP THAT DOES THE SAME THING. I DIDN'T POST THAT ONE CAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW IF IT ONLY WORKS ON MIUI OR NOT.
I dont believe you that it instantly made your phone super hot. I do it everytime I flash a rom and it has never, nor is there any reason that it would, make your phone a 'hot plate'
You know, its one thing to question something and investigate it. If you prove it wrong, so be it.
Ive pushed my phone to cap for the past 2 months just to test this thing, and everytime it proved itself hands down.
Did you get capped all the time b4 using this tho??? I dont think I have been capped yet on cricket or when I was verzon (tho vzw has 5GB cap), but I dont use my phone that much to dl stuff other than apps or wallpapers lol.
What this guy is doing isnt any different than any other unthrottling fix/hack I seen, he just made it an exe? I will never understand why everything is windows dependent. lol, if you check AF's DX section you will see one posted there too, one in the team blackhat app, oh nm I can list em all day long lol, numerous times on XDA, and just let we have here, mixed results, some swear by it while others didnt notice a difference like me.
But I posted exactly what my DX did last night when I ran it and u can ask PT about it lol. IT GOT HOT lol. The speed test were well just that crickets crap speeds and prolly a bad signal which I have experience on/off with any carrier.
but its always the same file that gets removed/edited etc regardless of the dev/creator. Thing is like I have said b4, they control the cap/throttling on their end, not the phone, yes that file may play a part, but theres no way it can be carrier specific with all the roms we flash, phones flash to other carriers etc.
The main thing is, the more ppl try n bypass the throttling, capping, and esp those abusing tethering the worse carriers will work to prevent it and making it worse for all in the end.
Not that will stop anyone from trying too bypass it n getting away with it lol.

What's seeing the amount have to do with the speed your getting it at?
If I use 10 gb it still says I use 10 gb on the site, as with every carrier.
It just doesn't cut the speed after 1g as it usually does.
IM sure if somebody at cricket noticed it be stopped, but fROM what I understand, cricket thinks your speed got cut. They send something with the signal (the same signal that all the phones recieve) that reads that file and says this phone needs the speed cut.
The modified file doesn't allow it and your still at the 'beginning of the month' speeds. So theoretically, cricket wont be able to see that.
I tend to lean more towards the side that the throttle comes from crickets end. Although saying that there is some form of two way communication between the phone and the towers to help in the data monitoring is not totally absurd either. But since I have no idea how exactly it works I am not going to come in here and act like I do. LOL. So I will do some more digging around tonight and see if I can find anything else out on the specifics of this type of hack.

I think that, regardless of who does what on what end, that if this method is really stopping the throttling for someone, we have to assume it works FOR THEM. The same applies if it doesn't work, and has unpleasant side effects, for someone else. I'd like to see if anyone else has success with this, or if they don't. The replies will tell the story, regardless of anything else.
